Each unit of study follows a proven research-based model of: engage, explore, explain, extend, and evaluate. This 5-E model requires students to do hands-on activities in order to develop an understanding of the concept and then be able to explain and extend their understanding of the concept. This schedule may change throughout the year.

Expectations: Students will be required to be prepared for class (bring notebook, binder, and pencil) and be on time. Students will use notebooks for notes, labs, and assignments. All of their work should be organized into their three ring binder. Students will be allowed to use calculators to do calculations for any work in this class as well as on tests and quizzes.
Homework and assignments will be required to be turned in the following day unless I say otherwise. Students will receive a lesser grade for late assignments.
Consequences for inappropriate behavior or tardiness will result in detention in the mornings or during lunch breaks.

100-93% A
92-84% B
83-74% C
73-65% D
< 64% F
Daily work, Quizzes, Labs, Tests - each calculated by taking total points earned divided by total points possible x 100
Daily work x 1 + Quiz & Labs x 2 + Tests x 3 = Total Score
Total Score / 6 = Average %
